You may qualify if you:

  • Are under 26 years old
  • Are pregnant or have had a baby in the last 12 months
  • Receive certain benefits (e.g. Universal Credit, Income Support, ESA)
  • Have a valid HC2 certificate

Typical NHS Treatment Charges

  • Examination – FREE for everyone
    Includes a full oral health assessment and treatment planning.
  • Scale and Polish
    From around £11 to £20 depending on complexity.
  • Fillings
    From £7 to £40 depending on the type and number of fillings.
  • Extractions
    Typically £7 to £25 depending on the tooth and complexity.
  • Root Canal Treatment
    Approx. £40 to £90 depending on the tooth being treated.
  • Crowns
    From £90 to £120 (metal or porcelain-fused crowns, as clinically necessary).
  • Dentures (Full or Partial)
    Typically £80 to £170 depending on materials and design.
  • Bridges
    From £120, depending on clinical need and structure.
  • Emergency Treatment
    Usually £7 to £20 for immediate pain relief, dressings, or temporary fixes.

Notes

  • Cosmetic treatments such as tooth whitening or cosmetic veneers are not available on the NHS.
  • Your dentist will always explain the recommended NHS treatment and give you a written estimate before starting.
  • You will not be charged more than £384 for a single course of NHS treatment.
